PNBAA Lunch & Learn with Critical CRM

Join the PNBAA Safety & Security Committee and PNBAA community for part two in a three part lunch and learn series in 2025. 

Part two of this three part educational series will be an engaging session from Critical CRM on the topic of The Invisible Current: How Systems Normalize Risk. This session will explore the insidious nature of procedural drift—often referred to as the "Normalization of Deviance." Using a systems perspective, we move away from traditional cause-and-effect analyses and examine how normal people, doing normal work, can quietly shift risk over time. We will consider how system and organizational resilience play a vital role in identifying drift and nudging safety back toward a safer path.

Questions to be discussed:
- How do flight departments slowly, and often unknowingly, drift toward unrecognized or systemic risk?
- What influence do individuals and organizational culture have on this dynamic?
- Most importantly, how can we effectively identify and mitigate this drift before it manifests as a safety issue?The afternoon will begin with check in at 1100. Lunch will be available at 1130 generously provided by Critical CRM. Presentation will kick off shortly after 1200. 

Registration is free to all PNBAA members and is $30 for all non-members in support of the PNBAA scholarship fund.
